New members wanted: low voices

Looking for a choir to join? On Monday 5th Sept, we’ll be starting back after our summer break. We have some room for new members in our bass section. If you have a low voice and are interested in auditioning, we’d love to hear from you via cantoiri@gmail.com

Cantóirí and Coro-incanto: Songs for an Autumn Evening

Cantóirí Choir will be joined by special guests Kamerkoor Coro Incanto from The Netherlands, in this evening of beautiful songs from various periods and traditions at 7:30pm on Saturday October 20th in All Saints Church, Carysfort Avenue, Blackrock, Co. Dublin.

Expect songs from Purcell, Strauss, Gjeilo, Byrd, Stanford, Bruckner and more on the night. Entrance is free and no ticket is required. Collection in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation will be taken up on the night.

Please come and join Cantóirí and special guests Familiekor Copenhagen for their joint concert in the Unitarian Church on Stephen’s Green at 8pm on Saturday May 12th.

Tickets are available the door: €10 (€8 concession)

If you are in town on Saturday afternoon, please come and enjoy a free taster at 3.30pm at St. Stephen’s Green Bandstand.

Slán Abhaile! Cantóirí and The Washington and Lee University Singers

CdERdorWwAQUcR6Cantóirí and the Washington and Lee University Singers will perform together on Saturday, April 23rd at 7:30 pm at the Saint Bartholomew’s Church (Clyde Rd, Dublin 4). Entrance is free of charge, with a retiring collection for St. Vincent de Paul Gardiner St.

The Washington and Lee University Singers are recognised as one of the finest a cappella choirs in the southern states of the USA. The choir sings under the direction of Dr. Shane Lynch and is formed of through competitive audition, with application open to students from across the university’s programmes. The choir tours nationally and internationally and performs a wide repertoire of secular and sacred works.

Acclaimed Paris-based choral and orchestral conductor and music therapist Martina Niernhaussen has been a frequent visitor to Cantóírí Choir over the past 10 years. This time we thought we’d share her!

In this 2-hour seminar, Martina will share her unique insights into unlocking the potential of your singing voice through an appreciation of vocal anatomy, breathing, posture, warm-ups, your singing resonators, singing and health.
